Sometimes people find themselves struggling and perhaps a sense of feeling 'stuck'. Person-Centred counselling helps client's to unpick what maybe going on for them and empower them to experiencing life in a more organic way.

In our sessions the therapeutic relationship is of paramount importance and can take place in my calming therapeutic base/counselling room or online via Zoom platform.
The sessions are confidential and as an Accredited and registered counsellor for the British Association Counselling Professions (reg no. 267042), I follow their ethical framework. This ensures a standard of training, experience and quality as well as ensuring professional boundaries and suitable supervision are in place.

Person-Centred Approach (PCA) is a non-directive counselling that falls under the Humanistic framework. The counsellor will be there to listen to you with no judgement and help facilitate you find your own solutions.
Evidence base shows PCA to be effective when working with trauma, anxiety, depression and all manner of personal problems. Motivational Interviewing has a significant evidence based and can be seen referenced in the NICE guidelines under behaviour change and is known for working with sunstance misuse.
I am also experienced working from a motivational interviewing stance which works towards specific client lead goals and the therapists role is to guide and work with ambivalence to focus on change.
The sessions are 50 mins and are often on an open ended basis, in your initial session we can discuss what brought you here and consider how you would like to move forward.
Counselling sessions can also be facilitated via Zoom online platform for extra security and peace of mind, especially in this current climate .
